On April 15, 2020

The International Scientific and Practical Online Conference “Quality Assurance in Higher Education in the European Union” was held at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University as a result of the implementation of the Module “Higher Education Quality and Expert Support of its Assurance: Ukraine Movement to the European Union” of the program “Erasmus+: Jean Monnet” (Project Coordinator: Svetlana Sysoeva, Academician-Secretary of the Department of General Pedagogy and Philosophy of Education of NAES of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Full Member (Academician) of NAES of Ukraine).

The plenary session of the conference was held at the Cisco Webex Meetings Online Webinars and Web Conferencing System (https://youtu.be/araMzQ_las4), followed by a discussion of speakers’ and poster presentations in the conference chat and Web service (https://zyavoes.blogspot.com/). At the conference reports were presented by members of the project team (S. Sysoeva, N. Batechko, O. Lokshyna, I. Sokolova, N. Mospan and others) regarding the results of the implementation of the Module. In particular, the problems of higher education development in Ukraine in the context of European integration tendencies were discussed; external and internal higher education quality assurance systems and expert support for quality assurance in EU countries.

The conference was attended by scientists not only from different cities of Ukraine (Kamianets-Podilskyi, Kyiv, Mariupol, Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, Cherkasy, etc.), but also from other countries. Thus, S. Papadopoulou (Ioannina University, Hellenic Republic), I. Papadopοulos (European University of Cyprus), G. Pappas (Open University of Greece), M. Urlinsk-Berens (Jesuit University Ignatianum in Krakow) made their speeches.

The traditional decoration of the conference was the poster presentations of young scientists, students, graduate students, teachers of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University.

In the framework of the module “Higher Education Quality and its Expert Support: Ukraine’s Movement to the European Union” of the Erasmus+: Jean Monet program, were provided classes “Perspectives of quality assurance in higher education experience of Eastern Europe countries in Ukraine: Republic of Bulgaria, Republic of Hungary, Republic of Poland and Romania.” PhD students summarized the main provisions of the ESG. The experience of the countries of Eastern Europe was elaborated by means of interactive methods: in the framework of the World Cafe, the PhD students summarized the organizational forms and methods of expert activity of Polish, Hungarian, Romanian, Bulgarian accreditation agencies and quality assurance agencies. Their certificates of accreditation are recognized in Ukraine. The results of the work were presented to the whole training group. The discussion summarized perspective directions of using foreign experience in Ukraine to support the quality assurance in higher education in Ukraine. PhD students took part in a survey on the effectiveness of the module lessons: thematic aspects of the course, teaching methods etc. According to the results of the study, the PhD students received certificates.

 

February 12, 2020

On February 12, 2020, within the framework of the module “Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Expert Support of its Provision: Movement of Ukraine to the European Union” of the Erasmus+: Jean Monet program, a class  was provided: “Perspectives of Using the Experience of Southern European Countries on Quality Assurance in Higher Education in Ukraine (The Republic of Greece, the Republic of Italy, the Republic of Portugal, the Republic of Slovenia, the Kingdom of Spain, the Republic of Croatia)”. The postgraduate students discussed internal and external systems of quality assurance in higher education, national agencies activity for accreditation of educational programs in order to highlight the most promising directions of experience implementation of Southern European countries in Ukraine.

 

February 05, 2020

On February 5, 2020, within the framework of the module “Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Expert Support of its Provision: Movement of Ukraine to the European Union” of the Erasmus+: Jean Monet program, a class was provided: “Perspectives of using the experience of the of Northern European countries on quality assurance in higher education in Ukraine (the Kingdom of Denmark, the Republic of Lithuania, the Republic of Finland, the Republic of Estonia)”. The class was organised by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Head of the Comparative Pedagogy Department of the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. Graduate students from different years of study participated in different formats: prepared One Pager for quality assurance in small groups; the World Café method summarized perspective directions of using foreign experience in quality assurance in higher education in Ukraine. The results of the work were presented to the whole training group and became the subject of discussion and decision making.

 

December 4, 2019

On December 4, 2019 the classes on experience of quality assurance provision in the UK were organised as part of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet module “Higher Education Quality Assurance and its Expert Support: Ukraine’s Movement to the European Union.”  During the sessions, PhD students were introduced the regulatory framework for the quality assurance of higher education in the UK, the procedures for internal and external assurance of higher education quality, and discussed the quality management of higher education in the UK.

 

November 27, 2019

On November 27, 2019 the classes on experience of quality assurance provision in Spain and Portuguese were organised as part of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet module “Higher Education Quality Assurance and its Expert Support: Ukraine’s Movement to the European Union.”  During the sessions, PhD students got acquainted with the regulatory framework for the quality assurance of higher education in Spain, the procedures for internal and external assurance of higher education quality, and discussed the quality management of higher education in Spain.

 

November 20, 2019

On November 20, 2019 the classes on the quality assurance of higher education in Ireland were organised as part of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet module “Higher Education Quality Assurance and its Expert Support: Ukraine’s Movement to the European Union.”  During the classes, the PhD students got acquainted with the regulatory framework for the quality assurance of higher education in Slovenia, the procedures for internal and external assurance of higher education quality, and discussed the quality management of higher education in Slovenia.

 

November 13, 2019

On November 13, 2019 the classes on the quality assurance of higher education in Eastern European countries were organised as part of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet module “Higher Education Quality Assurance and its Expert Support: Ukraine’s Movement to the European Union.”  During the sessions, the PhD students got acquainted with the legal framework for the quality assurance of higher education in the countries of Romania, the procedures of internal and external quality assurance of higher education and discussed the management of the quality of higher education in the countries of Romania.

 

November 6, 2019

On November 6, 2019 the classes on the quality assurance of higher education in Poland were organised as part of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet module “Higher Education Quality Assurance and its Expert Support: Ukraine’s Movement to the European Union.” During the sessions, the students got acquainted with the legal framework for the quality assurance of higher education in Portugal, the procedures of internal and external assurance of higher education quality, and discussed the management of the quality of higher education in Portugal.

 

October 30, 2019

On October 30, 2019 the classes on the quality assurance of higher education in the countries of Eastern Europe were organised as part of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet module “Higher Education Quality Assurance and its Expert Support: Ukraine’s Movement to the European Union.” During the sessions, the students got acquainted with the formation of a culture of quality at the universities of Poland and Eastern Europe and discussed the mutual influence of the management system of ensuring the quality of education.

 

October 16 and 23, 2019

On 16 October, 2019 the classes took place as part of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet module “Higher Education Quality Assurance and its Expert Support: Ukraine’s Movement to the European Union.” The topics are aimed at providing theoretical and practical training for PhD students (candidates) on the quality assurance of higher education in Lithuania, taking into account the experience of the EU Member States. The PhD students actively participated in the discussion of urgent problems of the specifics of the functioning of higher education quality assurance systems in the EU Member States.

On October 23, 2019 the session was organised as part of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet module “Higher Education Quality Assurance and its Expert Support: Ukraine’s Movement to the European Union.”  During the sessions, the PhD students (candidates) got acquainted with the quality assurance of higher education in Netherlands; interaction of higher education with the labour market in the European Union, and discussed their influence on the quality of educational services and on the quality of education and training.

 

October 9, 2019

On 9 October, 2019 the classes took place as part of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet module “Higher Education Quality Assurance and its Expert Support: Ukraine’s Movement to the European Union.” The topics are aimed at providing theoretical and practical training for PhD students (candidates) on the quality assurance of higher education in Ireland, taking into account the experience of the EU Member States. The PhD students actively participated in the discussion of urgent problems of the specifics of the functioning of higher education quality assurance systems in the EU Member States.

 

October 2, 2019

On October 2, 2019 the classes were held as part of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet module “Higher Education Quality Assurance and its Expert Support: Ukraine’s Movement to the European Union.”   The regulatory framework for the quality assurance of higher education in Hungary, the specific implementation of internal and external higher quality assurance procedures and the specialization of quality management in higher education in accordance with European requirements were discussed.
